About the Apprentice Position

Long Island Restaurant is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice. This part-time position is designed for someone eager to learn the ropes of the restaurant industry, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of restaurant operations.

Apprentice Responsibilities:

As an Apprentice at Long Island Restaurant, you will work closely with our General Manager to learn the ins and outs of running a successful restaurant. Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service and Sales:

• Handle customer inquiries and provide information about our products and services.
• Assist in generating sales leads and contribute to marketing.
• Taking orders at the POS Terminal

Operations Support:

• Assist with the preparation of food items and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Cleaning dishes
• Support in organizing and maintaining inventory.

Customer Interaction:

• Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Gather valuable customer feedback to help enhance our services.

Problem Solving:

• Learn to troubleshoot and investigate issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Manage and resolve restaurant issues within reasonable time limits.

Adaptability and Learning:

• Adapt to different roles and tasks within the restaurant environment.
• Take initiative to learn and contribute to various aspects of restaurant operations.

Any other tasks as required

Apprentice Requirements:

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle high amounts of tasks and prioritize effectively.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Customer-oriented with the capacity to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
• Strong attention to detail

Note that all candidates will need to take and pass a drug screening including but not limited to marijuana

Note that due to smoke allergies by current staff and customers as well as an effort to maintain cleanliness the test will include cigarettes
